Position Description for Tri County Public Schools, DeWitt, Nebraska

 

The Board of Education for Tri County Public Schools, DeWitt, Nebraska, is seeking a highly qualified, fully certified, educational leader to serve as Superintendent. The Board wishes to have the successful candidate assume the responsibilities of the position July 1, 2025.

 

McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C., Executive Recruitment and Development, has been engaged as the consultant in a search for outstanding candidates. They will assist the Board of Education in identifying and screening the candidates.

 

Enrollment: 400

 

Location: 45 miles South of Lincoln, Nebraska

 

The Qualifications

 

The candidate must have the background, skills, and abilities essential for excellence in educational leadership. The Board recognizes that selecting a superintendent is one of the most important decisions it will make. The Board seeks a Superintendent who possesses the following leadership and personal qualities:

 

• A community-minded servant leader that is visible and active at school and community events and embraces and is committed to our rural culture 

• An instructional leader that is organized and able to help lead academic success across our PreK-12^th grade curriculum and programming 

• A strategic leader that is strong with budget/finance and able to develop and communicate initiatives involving tax levies, school construction/bond projects, and staff retention/recruitment priorities 

• An open-minded, inclusive and collaborative leader who has strong communication skills and can develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, students, and stakeholders 

• A dependable and hard-working leader that understands school systems and believes in being a good listener and lifelong learner 

 

Search Timeline:

 

• Closing date for applications: December 3, 2024 (11:30 p.m. central time)
• Board of Education selects finalists: December 18, 2024
• Interviews with the Board of Education: January 7 & 8, 2025
• Board meeting to approve new hire: January 13, 2025
• Start date: July 1, 2025
